Praise you Liselotte Eriksson! Round 2

Liselotte Eriksson, fierce artist

My elaborate plan (of which I have many) and my idea (even more) is to write about art, introduce artists and their projects and me myself paint a portrait of said artist.
How hard can it be?

Totally hard! I needed three months to finish the first portrait and will introduce Liselotte Eriksson again! She has another Kickstarter!

I still don`t know why she is not totally popular and rich. Ok, maybe I know and for the second part, this blog shall be about art and why art is one of the best magic that humans have in this world!

"Art washes from the soul the dust of everyday life"!
                                                                                         Picasso

Now many a people are getting it a bit more as they have to stay at home. (I shall still go to work tomorrow).
How would life be without art in a broader sense, without the music, the pictures, the films, the adds, the colours even? Damn grey and boring, besides nature.
We are taking both for granted! Actually so granted most do not want to pay for it.
More about that in another post as Liselotte Eriksson wrote some good texts about it.

For now: join the CATS Kickstarter! Just some more days left (till 4th April 2020)

(P.S.: I follow Liselotte Eriksson for almost 20 years now. Starting in the Elfwoods and following to many places. I bought many an original pic as she is doing what I love to see, especially but not limited to Fantasy creatures. I really like her openness about her struggles. No gilding but telling as it is. As human, as artist and it is not always easy.
I am looking forward to seeing more of her art - whatever may come. The picture is based on a photo of hers, as well as some more resources.)
Thanks for being a great artist!

Some news

Because I got complaints I am not updating.
I have after all these years better internet connection and a phone!
This should even make blogging more easy!

I had and have great plans for 2014!

1. Having more and better technical equipment and I have a scanner now!

You can see perfectly well scanned new pictures here: Deviantart Gallery

2. Fill a 600 pages sketchbook (and I already finished it these days! So proud)

There is the book. A very fine book bought here Retrofonts Blindband

My grannie sleeping. When I was still drawing with pencil.

The last pic in this book. I had changed and used RAINBOW PENCILS!
That are available again, seven colors in one!
Most of the sketches in this particular book are made with lots of great resources.
You want to get better: Off to Pixelovely!
++++++

3. Concentrate more on artwork, sculptures, writing, all the creativity stuff! Show more of the creativity stuff. Take part in Sketchfest (My gallery). From today taking part in Illustration Friday.
I use Instagram nowadays and I am experimenting with colors a lot to inspire the people I work with.
In the end I wish to have picture books published (many ideas, am working at pics: Example)
And there is supposed to be an exhibition next year - maybe we get that going!

To see more pics of what I talk about here and the cat you should open this post!

Daniel Smith watercolors

Hello! And a warm welcome!

The color nerd broke through after I read a blogpost in Jenny`s Sketchbook
and something on deviantart about different watercolors by another color nerd, I forgot the name of :(
What seemed interesting are the colors that in drying break up into two different color tones.
(See below). They have a special beauty and do not regret buying them a bit.
They consist of special pigment that fall out or two pigments that separate with drying.

Here you see what I bought: 7 colors and the color dots to see if I want something else next time.
And my jellyfish. Totally unrelated. Neon markers.

Another photo of the dots, which are dried colors, always water soluble. Watercolors are practical!

There is more about the colors with pics behind the cut!
